Join our 'Case of the Month' Discussion GroupsEach month, we will feature one recently delivered refugee law judgment which we believe is sufficiently interesting - because it raises a novel point of law, applies the law to unusual facts, or states its holding in a particularly insightful or provocative way - that it deserves special time and attention. The staff of the Refugee Caselaw Site will summarize the key aspects of the case, provide a direct link to the full text of the decision, and suggest a number of points we believe are worthy of discussion. We will then alert registered users to the posting of the new Case of the Month by e-mail, and invite participation in a month-long threaded discussion group. To encourage frank and direct debate, two distinct Discussion Groups will be established. In addition to a General Group - open to all - there will be a separate Judges' Group, open to participation only by members of the International Association of Refugee Law Judges. Judges are free, of course, to join in the debates of the General Group, but the confidential Judges' Group acknowledges the value of confidential discourse among decision-makers. The discussions on each Case of the Month will be archived. Whenever a search you perform generates a case that was previously a Case of the Month, you will be invited to read the archived discussions. Click here if you would like to register to participate in either the General Group or the Judges' Group. We will then alert you to the start of discussions. | ||
